Poem of the Month
WALK THIS WAY, PLEASE
© Frank Denton “The Country Poet”
March 2005

My knee looks like a cantaloupe, it's swollen and it hurts.

And when I have to walk this way, not a single widow flirts!

But when it eases up and the pain is gone, it just feels so much better.

If that widow wants to walk today, well I just think I'll let her.

Still, I'm no better, I'm no worse, because of the way I walk.

I still need the warmth of a friendly smile or someone who will stop and talk.

So, if you're hurting today, or any day, and you're struggling ... this I pray.

That God will let me walk with you ... and be your friend today!
