Country Poet Recites
Go Home Arthur
by the Country Poet
September 14, 1999
Arthur’s been living at my house...
He’s a no good you know what!
He showed up uninvited one sad day.
I told my doctor, “here’s my car, my house, my bank account,
If you will just send Arthur on his way!”

You know his reputation...
He’s meaner than a snake,
And you know that Arthritis is his name.
A real pain in...just name the place,
for every joint he visits it’s the same.

When I wake up each morning,
’Fore I get out of bed...
I hope and pray that some time in the night,
Old Arthur may have moved away, completely disappeared,
About that time he “knocks me outa sight”!

When I thought that I had suffered...
‘Bout all that I could stand.
When I groaned, and prayed, and cussed, he just got bolder.
That’s when he moved his cousin in...
A fellow name of Bur...
He’s right here....living in this shoulder!
